After only eight months of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus and wife Firerose are heading their separate ways.
The country singer and father of popstar Miley Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose (real name: Johanna Rosie Hodges) on May 23, according to an online search of the Williamson County court system. Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the primary reasons for the split, according to People magazine and Entertainment Tonight.
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Cyrus for comment.
The couple, who tied the knot in October 2023, separated on May 22, per People and ET. Despite their recent nuptials, Cyrus stated that "consent to (the) marriage was obtained by fraud" in his divorce filing.

The Grammy-winning singer will be required to provide spousal support to Firerose amid their divorce, according to ET. Cyrus will pay his estranged wife, who was required to leave Cyrus' residence following their separation, $500 per night for 10 nights to cover the costs of temporary lodging as she searches for a new home.
Additionally, Cyrus will pay the Australian singer $5,000 per month to "obtain suitable housing in the middle Tennessee area for 90 days or the dissolution of the marriage," per ET.
Before his relationship with Firerose, Cyrus was married to manager and producer Tish Cyrus from 1993 until April 2022 when the couple filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Cyrus and Tish have five children together: Brandi, Trace, Miley, Braison and Noah. Billy Ray adopted Brandi and Trace, who are Tish's children from a previous relationship.

Billy Ray Cyrus marries Firerose in 'ethereal celebration'
Cyrus married Firerose on Oct. 10, 2023. The following day, the newlywed couple shared photos from their nuptials on Instagram.
In the photos, Cyrus and Firerose were seen soaking up their marital bliss in an idyllic field. Cyrus wore a classic, black-and-white tuxedo while Firerose donned a white dress that featured a semi-sheer top embroidered with white floral patterns.
Cyrus and Firerose said in the joint post that their wedding was "the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined."
"10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony," the couple wrote. "For both of us to hear the preacher say, ‘Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife,’ that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love! ❤️♾️"
Firerose credits Billy Ray Cyrus' dog for introducing them on 'Hannah Montana' set
During an October 2023 appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Firerose shared the "funny story" of how the couple met.
"I was walking out of an audition ... in Hollywood, and Billy's dog at the time, Tex, who was the most beautiful German shepherd you've ever seen, he was tapped into some divine purpose," Firerose told host Kelly Clarkson. "That was, like, 14 years ago so all these years later we just got married!"
At the time, Billy Ray was filming "Hannah Montana" at Sunset Bronson studios with daughter Miley Cyrus and was taking a break with Tex when he encountered Firerose, according to a 2022 interview the couple did with People magazine. He offered to take her onto the set and introduce her to the Disney Channel show's producers.
"Don't ever take a strange man up on this offer, but, in this case, Tex will testify that you will be totally safe," Cyrus recalled saying at the time. "I'm going to introduce you to a producer and you can kind of make yourself at home and watch us rehearse and you know, maybe it might lead to a role or just another contact at Disney."
They kept a "solid" friendship over the years, Firerose told People.
After "a lot of prayer" following his divorce from ex-wife Tish Cyrus, Cyrus asked Firerose whether they could be more than friends. They started as "musical soulmates," which evolved into "happy, pure, love that to me, I didn't know could exist."
Cyrus and Firerose have collaborated on various singles, including “New Day,” “Time” and “Plans.”
